V 178 (Unknown) (Rambler)

It may well be that this is another classic case of a job number being issued, complete with sail number, before a boat was actually built and launched.  Or are we wrong here?  Does a really beautiful ocean Vertue actually exist somewhere hidden away in the Pacific northwest?  She was going to be rigged as bermudan cutter complete with wooden spars, of course: spruce from Sitka, perhaps?
